Can we sign remotely via video conference?
Only if the governing-law jurisdiction accepts remote online notarisation (RON) — currently limited to certain US states and Singapore's IMDA framework. Thai notarial witnessing under the 2003 regulation requires physical presence.
How is this different from a lawyer's letter of confirmation?
A lawyer's letter is unilateral opinion; a notarial witnessing certificate carries the notary's register number and is admissible without further authentication in Hague signatory states after apostille.
