Do I need the notary act first or the translation first?
Notary first — the attorney authenticates the Thai signature on the source; the translator then renders that authenticated signature block into English so DHA / Australian court / Australian bank sees both acts on the same document.
Can the combo be Apostille-chained?
Thailand acceded to the Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026; it enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027 (HCCH). Until then, Thai documents still need MFA and embassy legalisation. After that date, check the Department of Consular Affairs procedure for apostilling the notarised original.
