NAATI-Certified Thai Driving Licence Translation (for AU State RTAs)
Each Australian state's road authority — Service NSW, VicRoads, TMR Queensland, DoT WA, MyLicence SA — requires a NAATI translation of the Thai driving licence before granting an Australian equivalent under mutual-recognition or overseas-licence rules. The translation must show the Thai licence class in a form that maps cleanly to the Australian C/LR/MR/HR class matrix.

Delivery includes the licence obverse and reverse, the Thai DLT class code (e.g., 'รย.1', 'รย.2', 'บ.2'), the expiry date in ISO format, restrictions, and a translator's mapping table to the equivalent Australian class per NTC Australian Road Rules Reg 80.

FAQ
Do I still need an International Driving Permit (IDP) if I have this NAATI translation?
For short-term driving (≤3 months) most states accept either an IDP or a NAATI translation carried with the original Thai licence. For licence conversion, only the NAATI translation is accepted — the IDP is not a conversion document.
My Thai licence is a 5-year lifetime licence with no photo on reverse — is that a problem?
No. We translate what is present and note the licence type ('5-year private car licence, DLT Act B.E. 2522'). State RTAs are familiar with the DLT format.
Do you translate the smart-chip data?
Not necessary — RTAs do not read the Thai DLT chip. The visible face plus the class mapping table is what the counter officer needs.
