NAATI-Certified Thai Professional Licence Translation
Thai professional licences (medical council, engineering council, legal profession, accountancy) are issued by discipline-specific regulators, each with its own numbering. Does AHPRA accept a NAATI translation in place of an original licence?
AHPRA requires the original Thai licence AND the NAATI translation as a pair — the translation is evidentiary, not substitutive. We produce a paginated pair so the reviewer can cross-reference visually.
The licence has a scope-of-practice code — do you translate the code or the scope?
Both. We preserve the Thai regulator's code (needed for Thai-side verification) and render the scope narratively in English (needed for Australian-side assessment).
Is a lapsed licence worth translating?
Yes if you are demonstrating historical qualification (e.g., overseas experience prior to Australian registration). We date-stamp the translation and add a note stating the licence status at the time of issue.
