NAATI-Certified Employer Reference Letter Translation
For subclass 189/190/482/186 skilled-assessment, VETASSESS, Engineers Australia, ACS, and CPA Australia all require employer reference letters translated by a NAATI-credentialled translator — not by the applicant, not by the employer's in-house bilingual HR. The letter must survive an assessing authority's authenticity check, which cross-calls the Thai employer using the translated contact block.

My employer wrote the reference in English already — do I still need NAATI?
Yes if the letterhead, seals, or signatory block are in Thai. VETASSESS routinely rejects mixed-language references. We translate only the Thai portions and preserve the English portions verbatim, marked as 'original in English' in a translator's note.
Can you help me draft the reference before it is signed?
We do not draft — that would compromise translator neutrality and disqualify the NAATI certification. We can share a redacted VETASSESS-conforming template with your employer's HR so their Thai draft covers every required field.
The signatory is my direct manager, not HR — is that acceptable?
VETASSESS prefers HR or higher, but direct-manager letters are accepted when accompanied by a supporting HR-signed employment verification. We can translate both in one SKU at no extra cost.
