How long is the certificate valid?
Thai issuance is valid for 3 months from the district office stamp. The NAATI translation inherits that validity — do not translate a certificate older than 90 days.
Do we need both partners' single-status certificates?
Only the Thai national's, unless the Australian partner was previously married abroad. In that case we translate the Australian divorce order back into Thai for the Thai reciprocal registration.
Can we lodge NOIM before the translation arrives?
Yes — BDM accepts NOIM with a translation pending, provided the translation is filed at least 1 month before the ceremony. Our 5–7 day turnaround comfortably meets that window.
