NAATI-Certified Surname-Change Certificate (Chor. 5) Translation
Thai women commonly hold a chain of Chor. 5 (ช.5) surname-change certificates — one per marriage, divorce, or personal petition under the Personal Name Act B.E. 2548. DHA reads identity as a continuous timeline: a single missing Chor. 5 breaks the chain and triggers a request-for-information that stalls the file for months.

I have three Chor. 5 certificates — do I need all of them translated?
Yes, translate every link in the chain. Skipping the middle Chor. 5 leaves an unexplained gap between the earliest and latest names and DHA will issue an s.56 request for the missing document, adding 8–12 weeks.
My passport already shows my current name — isn't that enough?
The passport proves current name, not the transition. DHA needs the transition documented by the Thai amphur, not inferred by the case officer. Chor. 5 is that documentation.
Can you translate a Chor. 5 that has been laminated and is unreadable in places?
