My Thai job title is 'พนักงาน IT' — that's too generic. What do you do?
We translate literally ('IT Officer') and add a translator's note referencing the duty statement so the assessor can map to ANZSCO 261313 or 263111 themselves. We do not assign an ANZSCO code — that is the assessor's job.
The certificate does not list duties — should we ask HR to re-issue?
Yes. ACS explicitly requires a duty statement of at least 6 tasks. We flag missing duty statements at intake and pause the translation until HR reissues, to avoid an ACS reject.
How many years of employment does one certificate cover?
One per employer per position. If you were promoted internally, request one certificate per role — ACS counts promotions as separate positions for the 8-year skilled window.
